James (Smiddy) Lee Schmid, 77, of Joshua Tree Califorina passed away on February 16, 2020.
He was born January 11, 1943 to his parents Lee Harold and Dorothy M. Schmid (Kleeschulte) in St.Louis Missouri. James served in the U.S. Navy in the 50's and worked in St.Louis as a Union Sheet Metal Worker for several years. He later moved to California and ran his own sheet metal shop...J&G Heating and Air Conditioning /Sheet Metal.
James was predeceased by his parents and his nephew Kurt Dulle.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Schmid (Kahre), two sons, Lee (Pam) and Karey (Lisa), five grandchildren, Ronnie, Tony, Robert, Jamie and Bethany 'Nicole', two sisters, Barbara A. Dulle of Breese Illnois and Nancy L. Harris (Max) of St.Louis Missouri.
'Smiddy' had many friends far and wide. He was an all around great guy. He was funny, and fun to be with. He was an avid bass fisherman who would rather be fishing than just about anything else. He always loved his pets and was a great 'doggy/ kitty daddy'. He loved his family and friends so very much, and they will all miss him...so very very much.
