James's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Saxton, who left us on July 3, 2025. Born on February 28, 1965, James lived a life that was both full and fulfilling. Known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, James had a way of lighting up any room he entered.
James was a dedicated attendee of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and was deeply rooted in his faith. He was a loving husband to Maryann Saxton, whom he married in 1994, and a devoted father to his beloved daughter, Gina Saxton. He is predeceased by his father, David Saxton, mother, Barbara Saxton, and brother, Daniel Saxton. Maryann and Gina continue to keep his memory alive, cherishing every moment they shared with him.
A man of simple pleasures, James had a particular love for Mexican cuisine and indulged in his favorite drinks, Tito’s and ginger ale or a 7 and 7. He found comfort in familiar television shows like The Office and The Big Bang Theory. His love for sports was evident in his support for the Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers, the New York Mets, and the Savannah Bananas. He derived immense pride and joy from watching his daughter, Gina, perform at Disney World. His cherished recreational activities revolved around his family, whether they were spending a quiet evening at home or making magical memories at Disney World.
James was known for his zesty spirit, evident in his friendly competition at work, where he once won the fantasy football championship. His favorite local haunt was Duffy’s Sports Grill in Hobe Sound, and it wasn't unusual to find him jogging or briskly walking around the neighborhood - his own unique way of staying in shape. James lived each day to its fullest, always encouraging those around him to chase their dreams. His legacy is one of hard work, playful exuberance, and infinite kindness.
Described as funny, caring, silly, child-like, generous, adventurous, hardworking, intelligent, kind, and friendly. James' personality was as vibrant as his love for life. It is this indomitable spirit that those who knew him will remember and cherish. His wife and daughter, who adored him immeasurably, and all who had the privilege of knowing him will sorely miss James. His legacy of "working hard and playing even harder" will remain an inspiration to us all.
