I went to high school with Jim at Placer High in Auburn and then on to the University of Nevada for our first year in college. We were close buddies in high school and while at UNR and then, like so many people that come in and out of your life, we drifted apart albeit that phone call every 4 to 6 months to catch up on like. Jim was a tremendous man and more than that, a tremendous human being. Having recently undergone a heart health scare recently I was incredibly saddened by hearing the news of his passing. While I have never met his wife or daughter, you couldn't have had a more caring, giving husband, soul mate and father. While my feeling of loss can't compare with yours, I will miss him deeply.
My sincere condolences to you and the family. I knew Jim from Long's Drug's in Sacramento. He was a great pharmacy supervisor and had a tremendous impact on all who got to know him. He talked about his daughter Jayme so fondly and then he met Lisa and was over the moon in love! I always called him "Jimmy" and he would say, "Ya know, not everyone gets to call me Jimmy".
And that is all he would say!! No punch line! Just a grin!
I always remember that and smile. :) He will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Dear family of Jim, let me extend my heartfelt deepest condolences. Jim and I met on a flight leaving from Seattle about 15 years ago or so. I was traveling for business meeting and he was returning home. We got to talking and we found we had something in common. Family😊. I found out about his family and he found out about mines. We were in touch via emails, I was grandma first before he became grandpa. The excitement I got from is beyond explainable. I always said Jim try to slow down and enjoy family like I am. Life is too short. His yea yea Josie I hear you. But he didn’t. I wish he could have enjoyed more his pride and joy, his kids and grandkids. His family meant everything to him. I will miss my dear friend. He was true blessing. May lord grant his family peace and comfort.
Jim was my best supervisor at Longs. Always helpful, respectful, funny, talked me off the cliff many times. I was honored to have Jessica Cudmore as a legacy tiger. Prayers for Lisa, all the family and friends. RIP James Santa, I will always remember you.
Jim was one of the most outstanding individuals I've ever known. It was my pleasure to work with him and be his ski buddy. He lifted the abilities and spirits of anyone in his orbit.
James Santa, as described above, was every bit of every day a man, brother, husband, dad and his favorite granddad that the rest of us men could take notes from.
You only needed to spend a hour with Jim to know you were with a sincere, genuine, compassionate, selfless loving man.
Knowing Jim over the decades has brought joy, laughs, Hell Yeah moments and memories that will not fade.
My buddy Jim, you are loved and missed by so many better people, because they knew you.
Love and Blessings my Beloved Brother and Friend.

My dad was THE best. He was always there for anyone and I will miss him every single day for the rest of my life. In his words I’m sure “I will figure it out” and “make him proud”

I love you dad, big as a snake.
