James's obituary
On Sunday February 1st 2026, James 'Troy' Sakraida-know to many as Uncle Troy, Pappy, Jimmy, Floyd, JT, and countless other nicknames he collected(and generously handed out) over a lifetime-passed away at the age of 63.
Troy was born on April 10th, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas and raised in the small town of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He was the third of nine children born to his loving parents, Robert and Julie Sakraida, and grew up surrounded by siblings, family, and a strong sense of home.
Troy was predeceased by his loving father, Robert Sakraida, and his dear younger brother, John Sakraida. He also mourned the loss of his brother-in-law, Bobby Walker. The absence of these loved ones marked his journey, but also steeled his resolve and his commitment to his own family.
A proud Marine veteran, Troy served his country honorably from 1980-1983. He carried that pride throughout his life, just as he proudly represented his hometown as a lifelong and passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Troy enjoyed camping with his family, telling stories around the campfire, and spending meaningful time with his grandchildren- moments that brought him the greatest joy.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Kathryne Sakraida, their children and grandchildren. His daughters, Katrina Mohrbacher, Kelly Jernberg, and Samantha Jernberg were his pride and joy. His sons-in-law, Mark Haritan and Shawn Cochran were cherished members of his family. He was blessed with six grandchildren - Rey Lynn Haritan, Lexi Haritan, Nicholas Haritan, Waylon Nicholson, Killian Cochran, and Tierney Cochran who brought immense happiness to his life.
Troy also leaves behind his loving mother, Julie Sakraida, and his siblings - Deborah Walker, Laura Shirley, Janet Golden, Karen Barnes, Linda Chapple, Mark Sakraida, and Amy Liberty who will forever remember their brother's kindness and love.
Troy's life was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the lives of his children and grandchildren. We will forever remember him for his devotion to family, his pride in his roots, his humor, and the stories he loved to tell.
