1972, Tasty Freeze Chicago near Horner Park

I first met Jim in grammar school at Our Lady of Mercy. The girls would always hang out at Horner Park because that was where the boys hung out playing basketball or football. We would always wind up at Tasty Freeze for a treat. This particular day Jim was behind the counter with (I believe) Kevin Phillips. He treated Ella, Joanie, Cathy and me to icy creamy treats. He was always generous with his time and kind to us.

I first met Jim through our church and through my husband, Chris. I sadly had not met Jim and Shevaun on my own. My first impression was how sweet, thoughtful, and genuine that Shevaun and Jim are and how the fruits of the Spirit flow through them. I couldn't believe how kind and how bright the Lord's light shined through them both. It was so refreshing to me!
