James Jackson, 63, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Wednesday evening, September 17, 2025. Born on January 3, 1962, James dedicated his life to serving others, both through his work and in his personal commitments.
A proud public defender, James was deeply committed to justice and to standing alongside those who needed an advocate. His dedication extended beyond the courtroom, as he was actively involved in numerous charities and volunteer efforts throughout Dallas, always striving to make a difference in the lives of others.
James had a zest for life and a joyful spirit that inspired all who knew him. He found great joy in tennis and basketball, and he had a deep passion for writing, often capturing his thoughts with the same energy and clarity he brought to his work and relationships.
He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Corine Jackson and Wanda Castille, his mother, and his devoted sibling, Dexter L. Shaw. James’s love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A celebration of James’s life will be held at a later date in Dallas. His family invites all who knew and loved him to join in honoring his memory.
