In Loving Memory of James Roderick Blankenship

March 17, 1964 - October 11, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Roderick Blankenship of Clayton, North Carolina, who left us on October 11, 2024 at the age of 60. He was born on March 17, 1964 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Judy Blankenship and Richard Blankenship.

James Blankenship is survived by wife Sharon Blankenship, daughters JoAnn Bollinger and Kelsey Wendt, sons Michael and Bryan King, father Richard Blankenship, sister Lucretia Duff, and grandchildren Ruxin Tupponce, Rylie Wendt, and Reagan Wendt.

James graduated from Denbigh High School. He then went on to receive his Associates Degree and worked in the IT field as a CCNA. He became passionate about the martial art of Aikido and found great purpose and meaning in his position of Sensei, teaching the art to others. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many with his kindness and generosity. James Blankenship will be dearly missed and remembered.
