With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Ray Dobbs, a man of remarkable spirit and tenacity, on October 3, 2024. Born on February 9, 1956, James lived life with his loving, caring, kind, outgoing, and humorous character.
He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Joy Ann Chaffin Dobbs , A Son: James (Linda) Dobbs of Baxter ,TN, Two Daughters: Jenny (Tony)Nash,and Mary(Joe)Whitehead both of Baxter ,TN. His Grandkids: Dakota(Ashlee) Dobbs,Jeffery (Brooke)Carter, Abby Hayes ,Jacob Hayes,Kaitlyn Dobbs,Cherokee Dobbs,Nicholas Lafever all of Baxter,Tn .His Great-Grandkids: Anna Dobbs,Piper Dobbs,Kolter carter,Mason,Raylyn and Andrew Dobbs . His legacy will continue to shine through his wife, kids,grandkids,and great grandkids. all of whom he loved deeply.
He was a logger for most of jis life and later on in life he worked with his family in lawncare and landscaping.
James was a man who firmly believed in standing up for what one believes in, never backing down and never giving up. His conviction, resilience, and faith in God were undeniable and served as lessons to all who knew him. He reminded us all to know our self worth and to put faith and God first in our lives.
The tenets of hard work, determination, and loyalty were at the foundation of James' successful logging business, a testament to his enterprising spirit. His greatest accomplishment, however, was his family, his proudest achievement and the source of his greatest joy.
James leaves behind a legacy of love, a testament of his dedication to family, friends, and never giving up, which will inspire all who knew him. His was a life marked by strength, love, and an unforgettable sense of humor. We will carry his treasured memories in our hearts forever.

As we bid farewell to an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend, we keep in mind his unwavering love and the strength of character that defined him. James Dobbs, you will be dearly missed.
