James Henry Packnett
"Turtle, Turtle from the valley"
James 41, was born in Eugene Oregon at sacred heart hospital on 8/30/1983 and passed 4/11/2025. He grew up in Northern Eugene where he attended 4j school district (Awbrey Park elementary, Madison Middle School and North Eugene High School class of 2002). He continued his education at Lane Community College for his machinist and welding certification.
James worked various jobs from oil change technician, to machinist, to bakery worker; until getting his CDL and finishing his working career at Lochmead Dairy.
James was a believer in Christ and attended Living Hope Church where he has been a member for the past 14 years. He loved to be involved and help family and friends where he could, but especially his children. He loved attending field trips and volunteering for their various activities. He liked to include his girls in everything he could and grow in them a love of God and the wonders of the outdoors.
James's fondest moments and many a "turtled it" stories were created where he loved to be; in the great outdoors Hiking, Fishing, Hunting, Camping and Rock Hounding. That was fostered from a young age by his late father Chuck (who passed in December of last year). James is survived by: His wife and mother of his children Megan Packnett, his 4 daughters Audrey(12), Kambrey(10), Emorey(5) and Prairey(1.5). His loving mother Caroline, 2 brothers, 2 brother-in-laws, 2 sisters, 1 sister-in- law, 27 nieces and nephews and 28 great nephews and nieces.
James left a lasting impression on those he met. He will be remembered for his giving nature, infectious laughter, his gift of communication and connection; as well as the stories that earned him the phrase "turtled it."
