James Patrick Norris, 45, of Union, KY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, in his home. James is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Anna Hogan; his parents, Ken and Helen Norris; his brothers, Matt (Elisa Espinoza) and Kyle Norris; his parents-in-law, Steve and Paulette Hogan; and his sisters-in-law, Andrea (Brian) Rigsby and Stefanie (Amelia Dawson) Hogan. James also leaves behind his 2 nephews, a niece, and numerous friends.

James loved technology, and was an early-adopter of whatever gadget or program was the latest thing. He loved playing video games with his brother Matt and friends, and enjoyed spending time with Anna while cooking together, people watching, going out for dinner and drinks, and on their daily walks. James loved a good dive bar and the cast of characters he’d always befriend. He loved his Mini Cooper so much, he even convinced both Anna and Matt to purchase them. James served in the Peace Corps in Cape Verde, Africa for nearly 2 years and remained a person who loved to help others, spending much of his time and brainpower in service of Anna’s jobs and favorite causes, or troubleshooting some tech issue someone in the family was having. James was a loving “dog dad” to Oscar for 12 years, and when Oscar became terminally ill and struggled to eat, James created a nightly “chicken time” ritual to get Oscar to eat and take his medicine, and to make Anna smile. James will be deeply missed.
