James Norman “Jimmy” Ferguson, Jr., son of the late James Ferguson and Janet Jefferson was born on November 27, 1962 and transitioned on September 13, 2023. He was raised by his late grandmother Grace Stewart. Jimmy was a devoted son, grandson, husband, and father. He attended Coolidge High School and trained at Vitro Laboratories in Silver Spring, MD. Jimmy loved technology and his career expanded in
various ways through corporations like Vitro Laboratories, MCI, Pitney Bowes, and lastly at Epiq Global where he worked for nearly 20 years.
Jimmy was united in holy matrimony to Gwendolyn Ferguson on September 4, 1988. They recently celebrated 35 years of marriage. This union was blessed with two sons Jonathon Phillip Ferguson and Morgan James Ferguson.
Jimmy was a devoted husband and loved spending time with family, traveling, fishing and relaxing on the beach. He was an avid Redskins/Commanders fan. He was career focused and worked diligently to serve his accounts. He orchestrated his life by “Living Life to the Fullest”, but always with a smile. Jimmy was witty, personable, and had a heart of Gold. He will be remembered by all as a “Commander in Charge”.
Jimmy will be eternally cherished by his loving wife; (Gwen), two sons (Jonathon & Morgan), adopted son Jacob Hylton; sisters Dorrie Lamont (Leon),Tonya Jefferson and Sherrie Jefferson; sister-in laws, Lori Johnson Brown, Penelope Kinney, and niece Nailah Fisher. He had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
