My Uncle Jimmy was my hero. One memory that comes to mind is a conversation that I had with him prior to me starting high school. I was feeling a little down about having to move away from my friends and neighborhood. Growing up my mother, my brother and I moved a lot and this neighborhood was the first place that allowed me to grow roots. During our conversation he told me something that change me forever. He told me that he was very proud of me and that when he had a son of his own he would want him to be just like me. This encouragement change the way that I approach the world going forward. Since my Uncles Jeff and Jimmy were my heros I did my very to always show the best version of myself to impress them . I remember think about this very deeply during a National track meet which ended in me qualifying for the 2000 Olympics.
We just heard of his passing.  A great neighbor, always upbeat and positive.  We are so sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you.

Mr. Jimmy was wonderful. I got to hang out with the Fergusons a lot for a period of time, and Mr. Jimmy and Ms. Gwen are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. My deepest condolences to your family. You have always been, and continue to be a blessing to those around you, and thank you for sharing Mr. Jimmy with us.
Unfortunately, I never got the pleasure to meet Mr. Ferguson, but I did get the opportunity to meet his son Jonathan years ago and can say that his legacy and spirit lives on through a upstanding person. May God look after the family and provide a hedge of comfort around them.
