James Anthony Monfre was born May 7th,  1965, and transitioned on May 7th, 2023, after a brief and sudden illness. Born to Peter and Barbara Monfre, brother to Peter, Rochelle, and Joseph, James spent his professional career in the culinary arts. He was the doting husband to Staci Biasi Monfre, loving father to Owen and Luca, and proud “Pop Pop” to grandson, Oliver. Jamie was an accomplished blues guitarist. He was deeply passionate about playing music, and loved his band members in Indigo Dog. He was a loyal friend and mentor to many. James was surrounded by his loving family  on his last birthday, and was gifted with Luca’s graduation from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design the day before.  He leaves behind him a legacy of love. 

A very special thank you  to the Surgical ICU team at Aurora St Luke’s Medical Center(especially Amanda RN, Kate RN,  Tori RN, Courtney NP and Dr’s Chadha and Hasan)for providing tender loving care, and support to all of our family members. Thank you for going above and beyond and doing everything to save my husband. For all the years we worked together as colleagues, I knew he was in the best of hands. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
