James Alexander Mihalek

SPARKS - James Alexander Mihalek.

Born September 4th, 1943.

Passed away in his home on April 25, 2025.

Born in Chicago Ill Jim had 3 sisters and 1 brother. He met his wife Irene there and then upon joining the United States Air Force they moved to Reno NV.

He served 1 year in Vietnam and then stayed in the Reno Sparks area where he and Irene raised 3 children, 2 daughters and a Son.

He had a long career at John Ascuaga's Nugget working as a showroom Captain and restaurant manager.

Leaving the Nugget after 24 years he then worked for the washoe county school district as a school custodian for over 20 years.

Jim was always about having family around and he loved to BBQ. He was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan and was so happy to see them win the World Series. He was also a Chicago Bears fan.

Jim is survived by his wife Irene,.

Daughter Kathy(Steve), Daughter Melissa (Jake).

Son Jim (Troy) Grandchildren Ashly, Adam,-Mandy, Ryan, Kayla, and Lincoln.

As well as being blessed to have 6 great- grand-children.
