James Neal Mercer Jr. sadly passed away the 22nd. of November, 2021 at the age of 50 surrounded by family and friends.
Jay graduated from Eastern Michigan University and Baptist Memorial College of Health Sciences with degrees in psychology and nursing. He was accomplished in many of these fields but found with his ability to make others feel comfortable he was most passionate as a psychiatric nurse.
Jay spent much his free time with his fiancée and kids enjoying everything from vacations, concerts, and baseball games to endless family game nights of darts, basketball and Wiffle ball to board games.
Jay is survived by his mother Mary Dianne Howard, father James Neal Mercer Sr., sons Ian and Noah Mercer, his fiancée Jenn U’ren, and step-daughters Emma and Ava U’ren.
Jay’s love and kindness was beyond measure and his loss is deeply felt.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on January 15th 2022, 2:00pm at Willow Grove Farms with the release of lanterns to follow at Hyde Lake in Shelby Farms Park.
