Dave's obituary
He attended Ball High School in Galveston, Texas and graduated from Marcus High School in Flower Mound.
After graduation, he worked on a Wagon Train to help troubled men rehabilitate and help them recover from addiction. This work was very healing for Dave and helped save lives along the way. He went on to become a very successful business manager helping companies grow and flourish.
Later in life, he became a father to two beautiful daughters, Creighton McNatt and Haley McNatt and recently became a grandfather to Logan McNatt. He loved and cherished them very much.
Dave will be remembered as a kind and great family man. His bright personality was always the life of the party. He always had an infectious smile on his face and a joke on his lips. There was never a dull moment when Dave was around, whether he was watching the Dallas Cowboy game or getting wasted away in Margaritaville. Dave loved and carried the family torch for Karaoke and he loved boating, tubing, fishing, kayaking and volleyball.
Dave found joy in entertaining fans for the Texas Legends Basketball team with his outrageous costumes and blue mohawk and went by the name of “Tiger Shark Dave”. During this time, he found his passion for Zumba. His love for Zumba was so great that he took it upon himself to become a Zumba instructor. On his trips to Cancun, he would teach Zumba poolside every morning.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, JB McNatt; his grandfathers, James Logan Kent and Tom Vester McNatt; grandmothers, Doris Miller Kent and Nan Price McNatt, Ruby Frances McNatt; Uncle John Ross Hopkin IV, Uncle, Dr. James Kenneth McNatt; Aunt Frances McNatt and cousin, James Kenneth McNatt Jr.
Dave is survived by his mother, Linda Kent; Step-father Buck McElroy; daughters Creighton and Haley McNatt, grandson Logan McNatt, sister Franci McNatt Dykes and brother Billy McElroy; Nephews, Nick Steer II and Anthony Fuller; Niece, Lauren Thompson; Sister-in-law, Diana McElroy; brother-in-law, Kenneth Dykes; Aunts Cheryl Hopkin and Janie Smith; Uncles Tommy McNatt and J.B. Smith; Cousins Cristin Bishop, John Ross Hopkin V, and Shannon Smith, Glen McNatt and Tom McNatt and other numerous beloved family. Dave was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
