Jim's obituary

James "Jim" Loudermilk passed away peacefully in his home on April 15, 2025 at the age of 74 in Nesbit, Mississippi. Born on December 28, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Jim's life was marked by service, family, faith and quiet strength.

He graduated from Whitehaven High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge. His time in the military reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment—qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Jim was a member of Whitehaven Baptist Church. He was a master mechanic and owned a successful body shop for many years. He moved on to careers in construction management, was also a millwright/industrial mechanic and a highly skilled welder.

Jim was a father to his loving daughters, Christy Loudermilk and Ashley Saylor (Stevie), and was a loving grandfather to Ruby and Lily Saylor (Papa Jim!). He also leaves behind his siblings—sisters Joyce Wright and Claudia Vickery, and brother Curtis Loudermilk. His extended family includes many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Aline and Jack Loudermilk. Their memory lived on through him as he carried forward the values they instilled.

Jim maintained life-long friendships with many. He was invincible, full of personality and charisma and just the right amount of 'crazy'; he was the life of the party! In school Jimmy played baseball and football and made the All Metro Team his Senior year.  He was nicknamed "The Hulk", symbolizing his strength and talent on the field. For many years he remained active playing softball for a variety of Memphis teams; plus had a love for horse riding where his family owned horses in Mississippi. He also loved to travel.

Though his life ended way too early, Jim leaves behind a legacy of resilience and love that will continue to resonate with those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
