James's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of James Lewis Carroll, who left us on May 14, 2023. Born on September 17, 1966, James was known as Kamian aka Kam but preferred to be called James. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by his wife, Marilyn Madeline Carroll, whom he married in 2011, and their children: Catherine Anne Carroll, Ethan Lewis Carroll, Mary Ellen May Carroll, and Logan Vann Carroll. He was predeceased by his daughter, Allison Rose Carroll, as well as his parents, Joshua Vann Carroll and Anne Ten Eyck Carroll. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Ellen Carroll and her wife, Jean Sirius.
James graduated from DeVry University, Columbus, OH, in 1993 as an Electronic Technician. He worked at Lucent Technologies in 1997 and later at Coyle Music in 1995. James had a passion for writing music, playing his guitars, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed rescuing and caring for cats.
He loved a variety of music, his favorite being his own compositions. Some of his favorite pastimes included playing World of Warcraft and EverQuest with his wife when the children went to bed, and designing house floor plans and guitar designs in his spare time. He cherished watching movies and TV shows with his family, particularly The Lake House and NCIS.
James had a loving personality and would do anything for his friends and family. He always encouraged them to never give up and do their best. His greatest accomplishment was his four beautiful children, and his legacy will be his kindness and generosity.
A Viewing for James will be held on May 19, 2023, at 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Dwayne R Spence Funeral Home. His death has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones, who will cherish the memories they shared with him. May he rest in peace and be remembered for his unfailing love and devotion to his family and friends.
