Gus's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James "Gus" Hawkins, a beloved father and cherished friend, who left us too soon on February 2, 2025. Gus was born on November 22, 1958, and throughout his life, he left an unforgettable mark on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Known for his vibrant personality, Gus was a perfect blend of witty humor and stubborn determination. His caring nature, coupled with his confident demeanor, made him a beacon of strength to those around him. He was a loyal, independent man, who took it upon himself to protect those he loved. Gus was a firm believer in being genuine and never straying from one's true self. His unwavering faith in God was to be admired. He valued honesty above all and instilled the importance of family connections - whether by blood or not. He lived by the golden rule, treating others the way he wanted to be treated.
Gus is survived by his wife (ole lady) of 29 years, Staci Strande; his children, Jessica, James (Jim) Hawkins and Mandi Strande; and his 4 beloved grandchildren, Ayden, Tasha, Bentley and Kenzie. Also, his sister Jan (Wally) Dummer and nephew Jeremy (Jill) Hettwer and kids.
