James's obituary

James Matthew Kramer was the son of Robert B. Kramer and the late Elizabeth (Baum) Kramer. Jim leaves behind his wife of 15 years, Martha, his children Margaret, Brian, Joe, and Katie, and five grandchildren. He was a loving brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He was the fourth of eleven children and even though there was always so much going on with an over-full house, he always gave of himself to help. He had a strong work ethic and never seemed to be negatively affected by hard work, always accepting an invitation to help his family. Whether it was to help his brother fix up a restaurant to open, or to clean up a garage to open for a business, or to help his brother build a house, you could count on him to be there.

Jim's work ethic could be matched by his sense of fairness and compassion. I will never forget the day we were walking home from grade school and there was a large boy picking on a smaller boy. My brother Jimmy saw this and without hesitation, convinced the bully to leave the smaller boy alone. It helped that Jim was built like an ox (he was the toughest, physically, and mentally in our family), which further convinced the bully to back off. I remember being so proud to be his younger brother! He was so generous, thoughtful and kind. Jim is the first of my siblings to pass away and the grief is overwhelming. He will be missed terribly. But my hope is that in talking with family and friends, we will share many more fond memories.
While Jimmy dealt with a lot of mental struggles through his life, I take comfort that, by God's grace, he is at peace with our mother and our Lord in heaven. Please say a prayer for him and for our family.

Thank You and we look forward to seeing you at the memorial.
Joe
