- James Kirkwood Jr., 71, of River Rouge, Michigan died unexpectedly on December 01, 2021, from injuries sustained in heart complications. His loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. James Jr. was born on November 04, 1950, to Martha Ann Jones and Andy James Kirkwood Jr. in Tunica, Mississippi. Still as a young child James Jr. parents moved him to Detroit, MI. James Jr. attended Southwestern High School where he received his diploma. After graduating high school, James Jr went on to work for Detroit Public Schools where he retired from and on his spare time he drove for checker's cab. Anyone who knew James Jr, knew that he loved his family and tried to capture every moment with his camara. He had an immense passion for playing the harmonica and trying to sing while busting a dance move. James Jr. was always a source of positivity. James family and friends will miss him more than words can say. James Jr was welcomed with open arms by his previous ancestors his mother and father Martha Ann & Andy James Kirkwood, his sisters Betty Clark, Helen & Hazel Kirkwood, his brothers Aaron Clark, J.C. Grimes & Larry Kirkwood. James Jr. leaves on earth to cherishes his memories two sisters Zalline Kirkwood-Ogletree of Melvindale, MI, Margarine Kirkwood-Hill of Inkster, MI three brothers Willie Grimes, Charles Kirkwood and Derrick Kirkwood all of Detroit, Michigan and a host of first, second, third and even fourth nieces and nephews scattered around the world. James also leaves behind lots of friends.
