James's obituary
James “Jimmy” Starnes, 43 of St. Clair Shores passed away October 19th, 2025. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Jimmy was born in Escanaba, MI on March 29th, 1982. Jimmy attended Harper Woods Secondary School and later built a successful career in the automotive industry, where his strong work ethic and commitment earned the respect of his colleagues and friends alike.
Beyond his professional life, he will be remembered most for the love he shared with his daughter Aurora – the center of his world, his heart, the reason for everything he did and his greatest source of pride. Jimmy’s proudest role in life was being a dad. Every moment they shared – from silly jokes to quiet evenings together – was filled with love and joy.
Jimmy enjoyed the simple things that made life special: casting a line while fishing during man fest, an annual fishing trip he took with his friends. Cheering for his favorite football team - Go Lions! Watching UFC and WWE matches and unwinding with video games or watching a podcast. Jimmy had a passion for bowling, a game he excelled at and was proud to achieve a perfect 300.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved daughter Aurora Starnes, his Father James Starnes Jr. (Kelly), Brother Chris Cicotte (Sabrina), Sister Robin Wioskowski (Mark) and Brother Stephen Starnes (Chevon), 8 nieces and nephews Tyler Chenault, his God-daughter Alexys Starnes, Kennedy Starnes, Alex Cicotte, Maddy Wioskowski, Evan Cicotte, Raegan Starnes, Noah Wioskowski, and a large circle of extended family and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his Mother Linda Miller.
Though his time here was far too short his memory will forever remind us to cherish our loved ones and find joy in life’s simplest moments.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, details to follow.
