James's obituary
James “NASCAR” Hoadley, age 60, of Terryville, Connecticut, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at home with his family by his side. He was born March 6, 1965, in Bristol, son of Nancy (Reidda, Hoadley d.) Zukoski and the late Denzil (Denny) Hoadley.
Jim enjoyed going to NASCAR races, fishing, working on race cars, and spending time with friends and family. Many knew Jimmy for his racing days whether working on Teddy Christopher’s car at Stafford Speedway or racing his own car in California at Watsonville Raceway (Ocean Speedway) on the dirt track, or from his time living the beach life in Santa Cruz, or his time spent being a pool shark at the many clubs in and around Bristol. Jim leaves an indelible impression on those who called him son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. Jim’s brilliant spirit, radiant smile, infectious laugh, and compassionate heart captivated everyone who had the chance to know him.
Jim is survived by his mother, Nancy and his late stepfather, Joseph Zukoski; his daughter, Erica and her husband Ross Atha, and their two children Colton and Ellie; his two sisters, Lisa (Hoadley) Whitney and her husband Rodney Whitney Jr., Melissa (Zukoski) and her husband Jeremy Mills, along with many nieces and nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss him. He was predeceased by his father, Denzil Hoadley.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or Brians Angels Homeless Outreach at briansangels.org
