James Haverstick, affectionately known as "Bigg James," left us on February 5, 2024. Born on August 4, 1981, to his late parents, Tamela Burbank and Marvin Haverstick, James was a beloved brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. He is survived by his sister, Candace Koch, and will be remembered by his nephew, Levi Thomas, and niece, Lana Daniele. James is survived by his aunts Sharon (Pete) Spearman, Harriett Burbank, and Naomi (Jen) Meyer and uncle, Donald (Mary) Burbank. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Pamela Burbank. He is remembered by many cousins, extended relatives and friends.
James had a deep connection with his family, cherishing the bonds that tied them together. He often reminisced about the good times spent with his cherished "cousin crew" and took great pride in being a part of a close-knit family. James navigated a difficult road in life. Despite facing hardships, he found strength and hope in the love of his family. His nickname, "Bigg James," reflected not only his physical stature but also his large, loving presence and big heart. Despite his challenging circumstances, James held tightly to his favorite mantra: "Peace + Love = Happiness”. These words were written on every letter he sent, a reminder of his gentleness and humanity. In the stillness of time, James’ memory stands as a testament to the complexity of the human experience and he will be remembered.
