My condolences to James's family. David and I first met James  on a trip to Jamaica .  Friends ever since.   We will miss you my brother.   Sending our love and prayers to the family.

James was like an older brother to my husband Howard. Even if an uncle only by 5 years, he would remind Howard at times he was the uncle! He shared words of wisdom and always backed it up with the Bible. Of course, there was back and forth, but that's family. He loved to fish and plant a garden that actually produced, so there was no need to worry about food. He was a great painter and foreman. These are all things we will see him do again to make this earth a beautiful paradise. James will be right among those who will enjoy the fulfillment of Isa. 65:21-23. We miss him already so much, but knowing he is no longer suffering, and also the bright future of resurrection that lies so close ahead soothes the pain. We will keep Evelyn, Denise, Jamison, Jermaine, and all the family of friends in our prayers, and may Jehovah embrace you with his loving kindness.

James Harpp, Mid as we called him was one of our 9th grade  school bugler's. After the morning bell ranged, Mid would head outside to the flag pole, as he would stand at attention ready to blow his trumpet as each classroom prepared to  recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

And of course, there was our neighborhood home Church, Mt. Olive's Sunday School classes with Ma Beck and Youth groups with Mrs Jessie Mae. Those were the good ole times when the Harpp family and the village we lived in  took pride in us and shared in shaping our lives in becoming  successful.

To Evelyn, his immediate family and all the loved ones you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Remember Psalm 23, it reminds us that HIS rod and staff will comfort you and never leaving you alone. Jehovah Shalom is the peace giver.

Love and prayerfully submitted

Condolences to the family of our dear classmate, James Herman Harpp, affectionately known to us as "Mid".       A beloved member of the Carver Heights High School  Class of 1967

I was sad when I heard the news of James's passing. Our prayers with the family. ❤
I met Mr. James through my best friend Dinah over 30 years ago.  He was always kind, oh so funny and always had a smile on his face. What a great man! Rest well Mr. Harpp. My condolences to Ms. Evelyn, Denise, Jamison, Jermaine and the Harpp Family.
