Uncle Mid and my family (The Rolles) have always been close. Uncle Mid and auntie Evelyn even studied with my husband Hiram's family, and introduced them to the truth. I have a lot of fond memories of my Uncle and cousins.
This is just one funny story…

My husband and I are very simple people. And if anyone knows my Uncle Mid and my dad Howard aka "Fat Cat", simple is not in their vocabulary. They are like two peas in a pod. After years of harassing me and my husband about why we haven't painted the inside of our house, I finally told them that if they want it painted they should do it themselves. I shouldn't have opened my big mouth. To make a long story short, the house got painted….but not by their hands. But I will say, they did an excellent job supervising those who did paint. When it came time to get to work, they always found a reason to make a trip to the hardware store for "more supplies." And came back right when the work was done, with full bellies 😂.  And when we didn't do a good job on one wall, Uncle Mid had Brother Maps come to correct it.  To this very day me and my husband still laugh when we look at the one wall he actually touched . And of course my dad and Uncle Mid took all the credit, saying how hard they worked. 😂.

My sincere condolences to Evelyn, Denise, Jamison, Jermaine and the entire Harpp family. James was such a kindhearted, loving and giving brother. I’ll always remember and appreciate James for taking my son under his wing when my son’s father passed.  He was always willing to help without hesitation. He will truly be missed by my family.  May Jehovah, the God of all Comfort be with you’ll at this time.

Papa Harpp. I'm gonna miss that constant smile. Always ready to do and direct. Always with a kind word. Always with love.  To the families, the family reunion we are gonna have in Paradise is gonna be epic. On pins and needles awaiting when our loved ones are awakened from their nap. I luv you all. Constantly in my thoughts and prayers.
Our deepest condolences to the Harpp family. Brother Harpp was a joy to know, such a funny and most of all spiritual brother. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest by dear brother until we see each other again. ❤️💕
I've been so fond of my brother James since I met him in my first congregation in the early seventies in Decatur. He was so fun-loving and he inspired good feelings among all who were around him he was always up key. Throughout the years after many of us moved to other congregations, I enjoyed meeting and working with James for what was then the RDC Construction projects. We had fun working together on building new kingdom halls . I haven't seen him for about 6 years though but I'm re -living some of the good times through Jermaine his son who we now have the privilege of having as an elder in the Northwest congregation. I look forward to seeing and hearing James again. I will know him right away and immediately as soon as Jehovah restores his life spirit into him in the resurrection. I think he may even awaken and Shout one of his old expressions: "Mercy!" He will be easily recognized by his vibrant personality. I pray that Jehovah keep these hopeful thoughts in the hearts of all of his family until that day.

Like the Apostle Paul, we "have great grief & unceasing pain in 'our' heart due to the loss of our dear friend & loving brother, James Harpp and due to the deep void his death has caused in the hearts of his family & all who knew him. We pray Jehovah's comfort completely envelope each one, yet especially  his beautiful wife, lifelong companion & friend, Evelyn. For now, we'll bask in our wonderful memories, our good times & our shared, joyful experiences. And, we earnestly pray & look forward to sharing in the spendid family reunion of our treasured James Harpp!

To my brother whom I loved so dearly, Being two years apart in age we were very close. I remember when we only had one TV and often we fought about what channel to watch, I would give up and let you watch what you wanted because I knew you would fall asleep soon. ( smile ) Miss you already calling asking about fish & oranges. To my sister in law Evelyn, neice Denise, nephews Jamison & Jermaine, extended family & friends. Let us look to the hills from whose cometh our help, Our help cometh from the Lord, Which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

God will give us perfect peace.

On behalf of our brother David Harpp, sisters Maxine Dailey, and Sarah Walls you are loved with special memories in our hearts 💕

Love your sister Essie Harpp Pryor

My condolences to Evelyn, Denise, Jamison and Jermaine and all of my Harpp family. Uncle Mid was like a big brother to me in the early days.  He lived a life with zeal and great determination to be as fruitful as possible. I admired those qualities in him. I loved his sense of humor. Although, I was not around him much in our later years, my love for Uncle Mid never waned. I love you all. Rest In Peace, Unc.❤️
