Once when 3ABN. was at Oakwood University Jim and I were on the program I put my keys on the pew and went on stage later when it was time to leave I could not find them We had every deacon in the church  searching until about 11:30   I was going to cost $250 to replace the rental car key A friend drove me to the hotel. Because everyone had left the church!

I get  a call from Jim  We both had rental cars and our keys looked alike  Jim had put my key along with his key in his pocket! Luckily we were in the same hotel I only had to go down the hall to get the key Guess who humbly drove me back to Oakwood to get the rental car? So many great memories!

Although it has been a month since learning of Jim Gilley's death each time I think of it tears comes to my eyes. My sincere condolences go out to his precious family.

I was very young when I first remember him at the Dallas Church (he was a teenager and I was in cradle roll) but  I remember him and  others on ingathering nights telling stories and laughing about some of the antics they did. Even at a young age whenever he talk to you, you would have his complete attention and he would have yours. When he and Camille and their children came back to the Dallas Church, to be our pastor, his devotion to the church and his family was such an inspiration to me. A few years later I worked for him at Missionary Tape & Supply his worship time and pep talks made it a wonderful place to work. My mother and him had a great friendship, she was the church secretary/clerk and their humor was mirrored in each other, and she shared her joys and sorrows with him and Camille and they both meant so much to her. No matter where Jim was living when my mother would contact him and ask if he would perform funerals for our family members he would. My heart remembers the services for my father, grandmother, brother and his 'J-lu", my mother. My heart is sad but my hope is big that one day soon we'll see him again. Until then "we'll keep on keepin' on."

Pastor Gilley was my Pastor. I felt sad when I heard of his death. He was always pleasant with a bid and infectious smile. May God grant his dear wife and family the comfort that they need at this time of great sorrow and sadness,  knowing that God is able meet all their deepest needs.

Pastor Gilley's passing left me with a heavy heart.  I'm told he's a distant cousin to my Daddy. He annointed my Daddy's head with oil one day before my Daddy (Joe Redd) died. I've always liked Jim Gilley's laughter and smiles. My condolences to his wife Camille and their children and all extended family and friends who are hurting. When Jim was still in the room with my Daddy he was telling me about that he has had a lot of illnesses. So, I said, well God scourges the ones he loves. He said yes Mary, But I just wish he'd stop loving me so much. So we both laughed and I said isn't that the truth. Pastor Gilley was funny and playful sometimes and I'll remember him that way just smiling with that light in his eyes. Such a Wonderful man. And I'm going to take his advice and Keep on Keeping on.
Pastor Gilley's passing really left my heart aching.  Though I briefly knew him, he extended himself to pray with me. I loved to listen to his altar calls.  And thankful I expressed that to him.  He was unique, kind, humble and will be truly missed.  To Camille & family, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. My deepest condolences,  Edna Peart
I was so sorry to hear about our dear Pastor Gilley’s passing. He was such a motivational leader and wanted to do more for the Lord. He had a way to keep you motivated in working for the Lord. His famous words “Keep on keeping on in Jesus “ will be constantly ringing in our ears. We are in shock so we can’t imagine his family. However we have that hope that if we are faithful we will see Pastor Gilley again. He fought a good fight and he kept the faith. Let’s us keep his mission alive by doing our part that when Jesus returns we be among the saved that will hear our Savior says “Well done good and faithful servants, enter into the kingdom prepared for you.” Be faithful family and friends so we will see Pastor Gilley again. This is our hope! Brother and sister Williams members of the Clermont church family.

Pastor  Gilley’s passing has really been a shock to me. Though I know that God is in control, it is nevertheless difficult to accept. His passing is a tremendous loss for our Clermont church family and especially  our young people.  Many of us were looking forward to working by his side  in 2023 to advance the cause of the Master. My deepest and sincere condolences to his wife Camille and the entire family. May the Good Lord that pastor Gilley faithfully served give you the comfort needed in this difficult time.

Yesterday, I heard the news of Jim's passing and was shocked and so sad.   This is a great loss to your family and many others.   Jim and Dad, (Kenneth Cox) were such close friends and I know they will have a great time connecting in heaven.  Just know that Jim and your family meant so very much to him.    Jim was a wonderful help to me when we lost dad and I had to plan Dads' memorial service.  I am so glad Camille that you have your children and grandchildren to give you support at this very sad time. My love and condolences to you Camille, and your family. Laura Cox Becker

We were devastated when we heard the news of Pastor Gilley’s passing. Our condolences to the family especially to his beautiful wife Camille. Please know that the family will continue to pray for healing through the bereaved times. Pastor Gilley was truly a great leader and an inspiration to the young people of Clermont SDA church. Let us “Keep on keeping on” with Jesus ( Jim Gilley). Rest in peace! Our family loved him and he is truly missed!
My sincere condolences to sister Camille and family.  We will miss Pastor Gilley tremendously.
I knew Jim when he was head of the Cassette Duplication facility in Texas, when I was managing the Andrews University Station, WAUS.  We also had a cassette business there, and often talked.  A few years later I went to the Thousand Oaks Media Center to lead out in the audio services there, and got to know Jim even better.  When the Media Center nearly folded in 1981 Jim flew me to Texas to consider being the manager of his operations there.  While there, he took me out to lunch at a Mexican restaurant, and before we went in, he told me that we had to settle a question first.  He then asked me if I was a single dipper, or a double dipper.  What he meant was when you had a chip in hand, whether you dipped each cracker once in the hot sauce and ate it, or dipped once, took a bite, then dipped the same chip again in the sauce.  He wanted to make sure I dipped "only once" before he would take me in to eat.  We agreed, but had a good laugh over the agreement.  Jim was a Christian jewel whom I look forward to seeing again in Heaven.  May you rest in God's loving arms till He comes.   Wayne Woodhams, Ventura, CA.

Oh Camille and family, We are so saddened by by the passing of Jim.  He was a trusted friend in all circumstances.  Camille, you were always at his side.  Your love for each other shown through being an example to all of us.  May God hold you in His arms.
