To the Gardner Family, I loved Jamie! He was such a wonderful person and he and I had a great connection from the very beginning. I don’t know why and I can’t understand why God would take him so soon. But I know I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

I remember he would play basketball before our dodgeball game started. I had to round up my teammates to play dodgeball, (I had named the team the “Matt Damon Fan Club”) so I embarrassed him so much when I yelled for him to hurry up cause the Matt Damon Fan Club needed their best member! 😂 well I found it funny!
I will miss Jamie’s smile and love for family. Love you cousin!

James was an incredible person and the most amazing friend. Blessed truly blessed to have had the opportunity to call him a dear friend. His smile and laugh warmed my heart. May you rest in peace. I will miss you so much until we meet again. You will forever be in my heart. To his family, Amy, his children and those that loved him my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
James Gardner was a one of a kind. I remember the first time I met James, he was nice to whomever crossed his path. Anytime I would see him, he would spot me out and walk over with the biggest smile ever. He lived his life happy and it's something that we can all learn from.

My father recruited james at IUPUI. To watch this left handed high flyer everyday in practice was amazing. He used to bring this snake to practice and scare the mess out of me. It was so funny. James will be missed dearly.
Amy, Braxton, and Jadyn and the whole Gardner family you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. No words can take away the pain. James will be missed by so many and its already clear by all the messages and comments that he made his mark in this world and our community. 💕🙏🖤
