Baby James Carter Gafford was born on May 12, 2023. He was a healthy little baby for 9 months in mom’s belly with no problems or health issues. He was well loved by everyone especially by his young parents before he was even born. But, unexpectedly, his heart stopped with no explanation the day before his birth.

His mom, Mayra and dad, Jared Gafford, first time parents are thankful for the gift of time that God has given to them with Baby James. They were able to see his smile, his heartbeat, his cute frown, smiley faces, and chubby cheeks on ultrasound for many months. They were able to see and feel reactions to their voices and even mom’s favorite foods. Although short-lived, his time with them was precious and a gift. He was born on May 12, 2023 at 3:24 pm and mom and dad were able to hold him and say their precious goodbyes.

We wrap our loving arms around Mayra and Jared. Instead of coming home to a home filled with baby shower gifts and baby paraphernalia with Baby James, they’re having to deal with an unexplained, painful loss with the added unexpected task of burying their first child  

Memorial service date, time, and location will be published in the next few days as soon as they are finalized. The family thanks and appreciates everyone for their love and support.
