James F. Murphy, 87, of Whiting passed away February 8, 2021. James owned and operated Mighty Auto Parts, of South Jersey for many years before retiring. Born in Youngstown, OH, he resided in Forked River and Mt. Laurel before moving to Whiting in 2000. James served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1953-1956 and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Pemberton Twp. James was predeceased by his wife Jean in 2014 of 57 years. James is survived by his daughter Jamie Herbert of Southampton, and 2 grandchildren Melissa Chesla, Matthew Herbert, and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation 4-7pm Monday, February 15, 2021 at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Ave., Lakehurst. Interment will take place privately at Whiting Memorial Park. A Zoom Memorial will be announced.
