Background
Jim was a hardworking man through and through. He was a little rough around the edges, but he had the biggest heart and would do anything for his family. Fearless and brave, he never backed down from a challenge. Whether it was working in the yard, tackling a new home project, or bringing a woodworking idea to life, he was always creating, building, and fixing. His passion for working with wood, glass, and tools wasn’t just a hobby—it was an extension of who he was.
More than anything, Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a loving and supportive partner to his wife and a source of strength for his daughter. Watching such an independent, strong, and creative man slowly fade away has been one of the hardest things our family has ever faced.
That’s why supporting the Alzheimer’s Association means so much to us. This organization is dedicated to research, advocacy, and support for families like ours who are navigating the devastating impact of this disease. We hope for better treatments, more awareness, and ultimately, a cure—so that no other family has to endure the heartbreak of watching their loved one slip away to Alzheimer’s and dementia.

A donor-supported organization, the Association allocates its funds in an ethical and responsible manner that exceeds the rigorous standards of America’s most
experienced charity evaluator, the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance. The Association also holds a National Charity Seal from the Alliance. -

What progress has been made already thanks to your donors?
Because of our donor support, the Alzheimer's Association has been able to receive over 220,000 calls to our 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), offering free confidential support and information. We've granted more than $59 million to 253 new scientific investigations in aggressive pursuit of our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia®. And we've led advocacy efforts to achieve a $300 million increase in federal Alzheimer’s and dementia research funding.

The Alzheimer’s Association was founded in 1980 by a group of family caregivers and individuals who recognized the need for an organization that would unite caregivers, provide support to those facing Alzheimer’s and advance research into the disease.
