James Elroy Anderson, age 86, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 surrounded by his children Jamie (Kellie) Anderson, Shana (Martin) Johnson and Kelly (Wade) Posey. He was born in Camp Dennison, Ohio to John and Evelyn Anderson on March 31, 1938. Roy was married to Melanie (Foster) on June 23, 1956 and remained devoted to her until she passed away in 1997. He is survived by grandchildren Jaime Anderson, Ammi Anderson, Roy Anderson, Samantha Scolf, Devon (Casey) Blankenship, Jeremy (Bethany) Johnson, Melanie (Jordan) Shouse, Casey Posey and AJ Sturwold. He also leaves behind 19 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Evelyn, wife, Melanie, partner of 20 years, Nancy Statler, sister, Judy Frye and great grandson, Noah Shouse. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 16, 2024, 2 pm to 5 pm at the Williamsburg Community Park, 100-144 E. Main Street, Williamsburg, Ohio 45176. In lieu of flowers. donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
