James Elmer Barber passed away in Trinity, Texas on March 21, 2025. Born on June 9, 1953, in Carthage, Texas, he was the beloved son of Emma McDaniel and Elmer Barber.
James's life was marked by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. As a skilled carpenter, he spent his life working in construction, electrical, and plumbing. His passion for craftsmanship was evident in everything he did.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cassie Diane Davenport. James is survived by his children Jesse Barber, Jason Barber, James Barber Jr., and Nina William; his grandchildren Ashton, Jaydon, Jason Jr., and C.C. (Cieria); his sister Gail White; his brother Charles Barber; and his former wife Vera Fisher.
James loved fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He found joy in nature and shared his love for the outdoors with his family. He raised his children alone as a single father, instilling in them values of kindness and generosity.
Known for his unwavering kindness and willingness to help others, James made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
