James (Spike) E. Lay Jr. (79), Daytona Beach Shores, FL, passed away on February 10, after a yearlong battle with cancer. An avid Bridge player, Spike was a life master and fixture at the Daytona Metropolitan Bridge Club since his move to Florida in 1989. During his time there he served as club manager, taught classes and directed games. His influence and impact at the club over the past 34 years cannot be emphasized enough. …
