Jim's obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of James(Jim) Andrew Dulkis announce his passing on January 8, 2024. Jim was 60 years old and was in the comfort of his own home in Claremont, California. He was born on June 22, 1963 in Oneonta New York, to Florence Dulkis and Anthony Dulkis. He was married to Martha Dulkis on December 2, 2006 in San Dimas, California. Jim is remembered as a loving and patient husband, a reliable and supportive father, a caring and proud owner of his cherished dog, and most of all, an incredibly warm, kind and irreplaceable person.

Jim was a kind and generous soul who could talk and get along with almost anyone lucky enough to cross his path. Jim never approached life or others with judgement, but rather with a curiosity and adding excitement to the conversations while learning something new. Jim was always thinking of others and how he could best support them or offer them comfort. Even in his last days, Jim was focused on sending homemade bread and jam to his family, giving money to a street performer who's song made him stop in his tracks, finding new restaurants and experiences to share with his wife, Martha, and ensuring that his dog Maya was receiving proper care and affection.

Jim spent his last weekend doing all the things that brought him joy and peace. Jim spent hours making his famous mango habanero jam, (with plans to share with all his loved ones) as well as practicing his trumpet for his upcoming performance at his son's wedding in the fall. Jim attended a Lakers basketball game with his brother David, nephews Nathan and Lucas after enjoying a beautiful meal on the pier with an ocean view enjoying live music.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Martha Dulkis, his son, Diego Aviles, his mother, Florence Dulkis, his brothers David and Anthony, his sisters Dianne, Sue and the late Barbara as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim's departure comes as a deep wound that is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide-network of community. He was a great husband, brother, son and the best father we could've ever asked for.
