Jim's obituary

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of James "Jim" Baker, who passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. Born on December 14, 1947, Jim led an incredibly full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Jim will forever be remembered and cherished by his beloved wife, Betty Baker, whom he married in 1971 and shared a beautiful life with. His strength, wisdom, and love will continue to live on through his devoted daughter, Karla Banks. Jim was preceded in death by his loving son, Karl Azelton, and his steadfast father, Charles Baker.

As an avid sports enthusiast, Jim pledged his unwavering allegiance to the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. He was famously known for his competitive spirit and a profound love for golfing, fishing, and hunting. However, his most meaningful moments were spent in the warm embrace of his family, as he believed in the paramount importance of love and togetherness.

Jim's strong faith guided his life, and his most shared lesson was the importance of loving the Lord. His profound wisdom and belief have been a beacon for those around him and will continue to inspire in his absence.

A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on June 7, 2025, at 8:30 PM at Evergreen Baptist Church. As we bid him farewell, we'll remember his life, his love, and the myriad ways he touched our lives. Jim's legacy will continue to live on in the many lives he touched and the love he shared.
