I’m watching the Monaco Formula 1 race. Jim and I would discuss every F1 race. Some of our opinions about the races were ridiculous and laughable. Example: We envisioned a figure 8 track with a yield sign where the two loops come together. Another was to require Yugo engines in every car. Silly but entertaining. Formula racing is not the same anymore. It’s just a race - nothing more.
Jim Cholakis was very warmhearted and sincere. He was a teambuilder on the soccer field and a fierce defender at goal. We met up again at Siena college where we successfully laid the foundations for graduate school. Remembering our Academy days, each of us felt disadvantaged by not having enrolled earlier and learned the local customs. His perseverance led to earning a doctorate and great professional success. He stood proud among the many Cholakis lawyers in the Capital District. Condolences to Jim's family and friends. We knew and admired a great man! Tom Laquidara, AA '60
