James's obituary

James (Jim) L. Chevalier (77) of Central Valley, NY died unexpectedly on October 20, 2019. The oldest of three boys, Jim was born January 30, 1942 in Cleveland, OH to the late Robert and Beatrice (Kane) Chevalier. He grew up in Brooklyn, OH and graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH with both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 1970, he met and married Margaret (nee Crowe) and together they raised three children: James (Megan) of Larchmont, NY, Alicia Chevalier of Alexandria, VA, and Greg of Woodstock,GA. Jim’s job with the Department of Defense moved the family across the Midwest allowing them to collect memories and life-long friends from Missouri to Michigan to Wisconsin to New York and beyond. In 1991, Jim and family moved to the east coast and embarked on a new career. For the last 21 years, until his death, Jim was the owner/operator of Mac's Quick Lube, an automotive repair shop in Danbury, CT. Jim is survived by his wife and children, his three granddaughters (Jane, Kennedy and Portland), and his brothers Robert and Thomas, both of Ohio. A funeral mass/memorial will be held.

Jim was a huge fan of soccer and spent countless hours on the field cheering, coaching and refereeing all three of his kids -- and his granddaughters, too. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Youth Soccer Organization.
