In Memory of James Charles Tyler “Puppydog”

November 29, 1944 – August 1, 2025

James Charles Tyler, affectionately known as “Puppydog,” passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 80 from complications of diabetes. 

As a long-haul trucker, James traveled across the continental United States, making friends wherever he went. Life on the road brought him countless stories and connections he treasured.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Tyler; children, Madeleine “Boo” Frazier and Anthony “Tony” Laporte; father, Sebastian “Peter” Laporte; mother, Mable Laporte Malhiet; stepfather, Albert Malhiet Sr.; brothers, Anthony and Donald Laporte; and sister, Maryann Louviere.

James is survived by his daughters, Tara Ryan and Thea Tyler; his sons, Charles “Sammy” Laporte and Colby Tyler; 16 grandchildren; and more than 21 great-grandchildren.
