Ozzy's obituary

James “Ozzy” Calvin Osborne (born April 14, 1967, in Fairbanks, Alaska) passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2026, around 8:00 p.m. at St. Joe’s Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. He spent much of his childhood in Idaho. He is survived by his daughters, Justine and Danita, and by his sister, Angie, who remained by his side. He was preceded in death by his brother and his parents. His other sister survives but was not in contact at the time of his passing.

Ozzy had a mischievous spirit and definitely marched to the beat of his own drums. He loved making people laugh and was quick with a joke or a prank, yet he carried a depth of care, intelligence, and curiosity that few ever experienced. He had a passion for history and music, and his sharp mind and insight often left a lasting impression on everyone around him. To those who knew him well, he was a steadfast friend, a confidant, and a presence that made even ordinary days memorable.

He was especially cherished by his partner of 30+ years, Audra, who remained right by his side during his battle with cancer, even on the hardest steps. Ozzy loved her deeply and was fiercely protective of her, and she, in turn, showed unwavering loyalty to him throughout their life together. He also grew to love Audra’s children and grandchildren as his own, and was deeply loved by my children, Austin, and I, who all felt his guidance, humor, and support in countless ways. His kindness, intellect, and care left a lasting impact on all of us.

Though life was not always easy, Ozzy faced it with resilience and a heart that inspired those around him. He was ready to go and be free from suffering, and he would want those who loved him to carry on with laughter, love, and fond memories rather than sadness.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit, his laughter, his intelligence, and his lessons in love, loyalty, and protection will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing him.
