Brandon's obituary

In Loving Memory of James "Brandon" Bagwell

Our Bright Light, Our Brave Heart, Our Superman

November 4, 1983 – May 16, 2025

With aching hearts and eternal love, we share the passing of our beloved son, James "Brandon" Bagwell, who entered into the arms of Jesus on May 16, 2025, at the age of 41. Brandon passed peacefully, surrounded by his family—a life lived with courage, grace, and a joy that radiated far beyond words.

Born on November 4, 1983, Brandon was blind from birth and lived with cerebral palsy. Though the world may have seen limitations, those who knew him saw only light. Brandon was a true miracle—a soul full of strength, tenderness, and quiet wisdom. His strength was unmatched, earning him the nickname Superman—a fitting tribute to his unshakable resilience and the superhuman courage he displayed each day. He never needed sight to see the love around him, and he never needed words to express the deep connection he had with those closest to him.

Though Brandon faced many challenges in this world, we now take comfort in knowing that he is healed, whole, and free in the presence of God. In heaven, Brandon can now run, see, and talk—his body fully restored. He is no longer bound by the limitations of this earthly life but is now running with joy, seeing the world in its fullness, and speaking words of praise to his Creator. The pain and struggles of this life have been left behind, and he is fully healed in the arms of Jesus.

Brandon’s joy came from the simplest, most meaningful parts of life. He loved eating delicious meals, listening to all kinds of music, playing pat-a-cake, and singing Jesus Loves Me—a song that reflected his gentle spirit and strong faith. More than anything, Brandon loved his family. He especially treasured weekly visits from his mother, Sherry, whose presence brought him peace, comfort, and happiness. Their bond was profound and unbreakable.

Though he never saw the world with his eyes, Brandon helped all of us see it more clearly. His life was a reminder of what truly matters: love, presence, grace, and gratitude. His impact was quiet but powerful, and the lessons he taught us will remain with us always.

Brandon is survived by his devoted parents, Garth and Sherry Haver; his loving sister, Brittany Carter, and her husband Jeremy Carter; his beloved niece, Anniston Carter; and his cherished nephews, Colton and Landon Carter. He is also remembered fondly by a large extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, caregivers, and friends who were forever changed by his radiant soul.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Hope Church Carrollton: 306 Burns Rd, Carrollton, GA 30117.  All who loved Brandon are welcome to attend and honor the beautiful life he lived.

Rest peacefully, Brandon. You will forever be our sunshine, our brave heart, and our Superman. You are our forever blessing. You are now healed, whole, and forever free in the arms of our Savior.
