Background
Jim obtained his pilot's license at the age of 18.
Jim was a United States Air Force veteran who was an inflight refueler on KC-135s, earning the callsign "Boomer."
His enthusiasm for all things aviation stayed with him his whole life. After working in the Air Force, Jim worked for a time on the ramp for American Eagle while he continued to fly to pursue his dream of being a pilot.
He flew for Express Jet, Mesa Airlines, and United Express and was later a flight instructor. He was a Quiet Birdman and a proud member of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), where he gained the rank of Lietenet Colinel.
Jim was a friend to all who crossed his path, always bringing warmth and kindness to those around him. He will be deeply missed.
Instead of flowers, the family has requested that his friends consider a donation to the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, where Jim was a past member of the Board of Directors and an aircraft acquisition specialist.
The OV-10 Bronco Association, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit museum doing business as the Fort Worth Aviation Museum.
Proceeds from this memorial fund will support the museum's education and preservation programs. Donations may be tax deductible. Contribute
