Jimmy's obituary

Memorial services for James F. "Jimmy" Black, 62, of Willoughby were held Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.  Memorial gatherings are held every year on or near June 21st, the celebrate Jimmy's birthday.  (contact angellesheridan@gmail.com for more information)

Jimmy passed away May 1, 2018.

He was born June 21, 1955 in Cleveland.

Jimmy was a consummate musician. With perfect pitch, he could play many instruments in his own wonderful way. He was involved in numerous bands and an outstanding array of top notch musicians with a wide following in Northeast Ohio.

As an instructor at Willow Music and later Joe's Music, both in Willoughby, he unselfishly nurtured the dreams and aspirations of many people of all ages. When he sang, he put everything he had in every note. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, his warmth, and his complete loyalty as a friend.

Survivors include his father, William F. Black; step-mother, Martie Black; brothers, Stephen and David Black. He also leaves behind many loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha L. (Washington) Black.
