Jim and Charlotte were my landlords at Cholita Square housing track that they owned in Joshua tree California from 1999-2000 working with Jim repairing the house on hwy 62 after a car drove through the side of the house into the bedroom, nearly killing the family, who was renting the house at the time it was a young marine that fell asleep at The wheel driving back to 29 Palms marine base I remember servicing the evaporated swamp coolers in the summer and in the fall on each of the eight units I remember going to Jim‘s house in Josh tree him, and Charlotte would tell me about the repairs they did to remodel the house. He was always a kind heart and a good person. Him and Charlotte have always been good people as long as I know them.
The first thing I would like to express is our deepest condolences to Jim's wife and family in South Carolina.

I have known Jim for 43 years. He is the grandfather to my 2 sons. He was such an important person in their lives. He was a wonderful grandfather to my sons and loved them very much and was always so proud of them and their accomplishments in life. They also have many fun memories of spending time with him taking them to Disneyland, motorcycle riding in Joshua Tree and boating on the lake or the ocean in Dana Point.

We spent a lot of time visiting Jim in Joshua Tree. It was there that Jim taught me how to ride a dirt bike and drive a stick shift. He also taught me to shoot a gun and a rifle. We would enjoy the nights in the desert with all the stars and following astronomy charts to identify all the constellations. We also took long walks in the desert. Jim enjoyed teaching us about all the plants, cactus, snakes and wildlife of Joshua Tree. His appreciation of music such as Otis Redding and Jimi Hendrix were always playing when we visited. Because of Jim, this is music I still love today.

I will especially miss our long conversations about football. Jim was a true Patriot's fan because he was born in Boston. We are Steeler's fans living in California. Our friendly banter back and forth every season about our teams was always about joking and laughing. We really enjoyed talking about politics and world events. I always valued Jim's opinion on any subject we would talk about. He was really a wealth of knowledge.
He taught me so much through books and news programs throughout the years. He really was a great teacher and he enjoyed sharing and teaching.

Jim was always there for me and a great source of strength through difficult times. Our lives will never be the same without him. We will always cherish all the wonderful memories we had with you Jim and forever keep your memory alive in our hearts.

We love you Jim-Michelle, Kevin and Ryan
To Jim's family,

I'm so sorry to learn about Jim's passing. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to connect with Jim this past year. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim's cousin, Mike
