Rev's obituary

Obituary for James “Rev” Baker

James Baker, lovingly known as “Rev” to those closest to him, was born in April 1978 in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, and passed away in January 2026 in Front Royal, Virginia, due to a sudden brain hemorrhage. His departure leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Rev’s life was marked by devotion—to his family, to his faith, and to the music that flowed through him. A gifted professional musician and singer, he found his greatest joy in creating music, especially when it meant sharing the stage or a song with the people he loved most. Family was the center of his world, and nothing delighted him more than time spent with them.

He had a lifelong love for dogs, who brought him comfort, companionship, and a sense of peace. In his younger years, Rev embraced adventure and competition, racing cars and playing sports well into the college level. His energy, passion, and drive were unmistakable.

Rev leaves behind his two children by blood, Mickey and Moose, along with many others who lovingly called him “Dad.” His influence stretched far beyond biological ties; he was a father-figure, mentor, and steady presence to countless lives.

A memorial service celebrating Rev’s life is being planned for the spring of 2026, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate the music and love he poured into the world.
