James “Jim” Anderson, Sr., 78, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025.
Jim was born on February 17, 1947, in Birmingham, AL where he spent his life devoted to his family, friends, and community. Known for his warm smile, unwavering kindness, and quick wit, Jim touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He dedicated over 40 years to his career as a master carpenter, crafting not only homes but also lifelong relationships with his clients and colleagues. Outside of work, Jim enjoyed fishing trips to the Gulf Coast, cheering for the Auburn Tigers, and savoring a good bowl of Blue Bell ice cream on warm summer nights.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Anderson; his children, James Anderson Jr. and Sarah Bennett; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family, countless friends, and neighbors who knew him as “Mr. Fix-It” for his generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need.
