It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Michael Ray Alton Jr., better known as Mike, who was born on January 12, 1988 and passed away on June 26, 2023. Mike was a warm, bubbly, and outgoing individual with a vibrant personality that could light up any room.

Mike is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Meredith. He leaves behind a significant legacy, survived by his father James M.R. Alton Sr.; his siblings Cheyanna Alton, Dustin Meredith, Dylan Alton, and Shannon Seiler; and his loving children Mason Alton, Stella Obanion, and Kaiden Bancord.  Mike also had many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and family who loved him dearly.

A graduate of North Caroline High School in 2006, Mike was a cherished member of the community. He had a zest for life, enjoying simple pleasures such as sweet tea, coffee, and was known to never pass up a good meal. A fan of Morgan Wallen, he often shared joy and energy with his favorite song, "Thought you should know." A devoted Buffalo Bills enthusiast, he also found joy in maintaining his physique, frequently working out and encouraging others to do the same.

Among his favorite activities were spending time with his children, friends, and family. His love for Florida was known to all, along with his affinity for the color blue. Mike taught us life lessons about cherishing every moment, promoting love, and spreading kindness. His greatest pride and joy were his children, to whom his legacy of love will be passed on.

A memorial service to honor Mike's life will be held on July 6, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Caroline Post 29. His absence has left a profound void in the lives of many. Mike was a beacon of joy and kindness in this world, and we will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
