Jameel Rashada, passed away May 4,2023 in Fredericksburg, VA.  He was born in Statesville, N.C. February12, 1956. Jameel was preceded in death by a sister, Laurice Howard,  a brother, Louis J Ferguson and his parents, Romi and Alice Ferguson.  He is survived by his only son, Byron (Kristi). His grandchildren, Myron Battle, step grands Aaliyah, Allison, and two more due this year.  

Jameel served in the army and worked in security up until his passing.  Jameel studied voice, music theory, piano, and guitar at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina and in 2008 released his album "Ready to Serve". He was a phenomenal musician.

 He was a a good father, grandfather, and dear friend to those who knew him and he will be deeply missed.   Cremation services will be provided by Covenant Funeral Services and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
