Jake's obituary
OBITUARY
Jakob Russell Ashner of Wentzville, MO passed away on July 6, 2024. He was born on May 5, 1995 in St. Louis, MO to Jason Ashner and Tonya Shoemake (nee: Bristol). He had reached the age of 29. A loving son, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.
Jake was a quick witted people person with a charming personality to fit any crowd. Jakob was charismatic and affectionate with a kind and humble soul His friends mostly described him as "goofy" with a contagious sense of humor noting he was very fluent in sarcasm. Jake was good with kids as he was a big kid himself, always joking around. Jakob's passions were fishing, watching UFC fights or STL blues hockey and spending time with friends and family. You would most always find him listening to some great music, everything from rap to country to rock and back again. No matter his mood or situation, you were welcomed with a smile. Kids and dogs would flock to Jake knowing he could be trusted. He made them feel safe. The largest part of Jakob was his heart. He made sure you knew you were loved and cared for.
It saddens us deeply to have tragically lost Jakob way too soon, but we will always carry the happy memories of him in our hearts.
Jake is survived by his loving daughter Isabelle Mae Vanderbos; his beloved parents, Jason (Rebecca) Ashner, and Tonya (Todd) Shoemake; grandparents, John (Jeanne) Ashner, and William (Mary) Bristol; step-siblings, Abbigail St. John and Alex St. John, dear aunt Renetta (Mike) Duke; uncle Raymond Wells, Uncle Donald (Amanda) Jones, several cousins, Shenna, Kennedy, and Presley Lizzi, Zachary Clark, and Danny Wells; he is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Tammie Lynch, and Patricia Ashner.
Please bring love and positivity as we share our memories.
