Jaime's obituary
Jaime "Jieun" Hyun, aged 49, of Alexandria, VA, left for the heaven above on October 5, 2023. She was born on January 4, 1974, in Kyongju, Korea, to Jinmoon Son and Boksun Hur.
Jieun's upbringing took place in Kyongju, Korea. After graduating from Kyongju High School in South Korea in 1992, she pursued her Bachelor's degree in Ceramics Art at Kookmin University in Seoul. Following her undergraduate studies, she continued her education at the same institution, earning a Master's degree in ceramics. Subsequently, she dedicated many years to teaching art and music to children in Seoul. On Christmas Day 2009, she met Donnie, the love of her life and the man who would steadfastly stand by her side through life's many challenges.
In 2010, they celebrated their marriage in Seoul, Korea. She then relocated to the US with her husband, an army officer in the US army. As a devoted military spouse, Jieun provided unwavering support for her husband throughout his demanding military career, which included a deployment to Afghanistan in 2012 and a role as a company commander in 2013.
In 2013, Jieun gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Elena, a source of immense pride for her. She was a faithful and loving wife and a devoted mother to her child. Throughout the challenges of military life, Jieun embodied the bedrock of her family with her unwavering devotion, always maintaining her radiant smile. Over the past 13 years, despite enduring more than six relocations, Jaime took the lead in managing all household moves.
Jieun, a paragon of love and devotion, is survived by her husband, Donnie; her daughter, Elena; her father, Jinmoon; her mother, Boksun; and her sister, Ka-eun.
